Roman Palacios a Singer for all seasons as they have published. Roman was born in San Diego California, He embarked on his life long love of music and song at only 7 years of age.
His third grade school teacher Mrs. Drake gave him his opportunity to perform in the School Choir, and his school performances were only the beginning of his early start in his vocal journey. Roman would not perform again until 1996, when he discovered The Red Fox Room in San Diego. It was here that he tested, and honed his talent along side the incredible Songstress/Pianist whose grace and style would ​inspire him to pursue a career in music. The Incredible (hardly the word to describe) artist Shirley Allen, who was accompanied by the very talented David Shaw(on Clarinet, trumpet, and sax), and Son Mark McMullen (drums). Roman spent the next several years learning from, performing and perfecting his craft with this group and other musicians in a variety of nightclubs, bars, restaurants and Hotels throughout the U.S. In 1999, Roman continued to frequent The Red Fox Room. This time, he met an incredibly talented Vocal Master who would later influence his skills and vocal talent in music, ​impacting his vocal styling, and instantly become one of his closest, and best friends. International Tenor Daniel Hendrick introduced Roman to the fine art of Bel Canto (operatic training), which helped unlock Roman’s vocal potential and catapult him to the next level. Roman could now be found Luxurious restaurants, and hotels, and Performance Concerts where he would perform with fellow musicians and share their vocal and musical talents. Also Inspired by early legends of the 30's, 40s, 50's and 60's. Roman grew in his affinity of listening and studying the greats, such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, and Steve Lawrence to mention a few. Roman Also enjoyed listening to many Classical Artist including The Great Enrico Caruso, Franco Corelli, Mario Lanza, Giuseppi di Stefano, Luciano Pavarotti, and even Andrea Bocelli. Roman’s vocal styling, delivery and phrasing are reminiscent of the greats: Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Placido Domingo. 2009 would bring a huge change to his delivery of song through his new and most talented master Jazz Pianist Tommy Gannon. Tommy and Roman, started in a wonderful restaurant by the name of Via Lago. Both made a connection the first night they played together, locking them into performing in some of the most sought out hotspots in all San Diego, and have done it with great success. Their comedy and playing off one another has put them at the top of San Diego's Music Scene. Tommy Gannon has had a great impact in Romans musical career and has taken the helm behind the Piano and continue to make the music of an era which we know now and called The Standards. Music of the Big Bands. Romans' presence is commanding. His voice is Warm, smooth, powerful, and refined. His musical timing is... well you would have to catch him performing to understand how precise and refined and comfortable he is in this department. His undeniable charisma, style, charm, and comedic sense of timing are something that must be experienced to truly be appreciated. Roman is the true definition of artist, musician, and entertainer.
